Lass Camp

Lass Camp is a weekly camp session for girls that snowboard in the Houghton/Hancock area of any age. The camp is meant to promote that girls can ride too. As many of us ladies know, the snowboarding world is predominately populated with the opposite sex and many times feel that our abilities are downgraded.  Gee wiz, right?  Do they not realize we are progressing too?

I, Theresa Kewley, have developed a camp held once a week to help ladies gain confidence in their riding abilities. I believe it does not matter what anyone else thinks of your riding abilities.
What really matters is what makes you enjoy the sport. Snowboarding is meant to be enjoyed as an individual and what makes you enjoy snowboarding is really all that matters.  Ride and live.

Goal
The main goal of the camp is getting together with other girls to ride and have fun.  Once the snow season starts for Mont Ripley I propose a weekly riding session during the week for all interested ladies to get together (usually I try to get other ladies to hike before it opens).  Simply two options are available; ladies can choose from either just riding around enjoying the time together or can learn new things.  Either way, I try my best to encourage and teach the girls to have fun and progress.

Location
Mont Ripley is the ski hill the sessions are held at.  It is located in Ripley, Michigan

Cost
Lass Camp does not cost anything and is done voluntarily.  It makes me happy to see girls excited to learn new things with snowboarding.

Disclaimer
Like many other sports, Snowboarding is considered extreme and dangerous.  Mont Ripley has rules and you must know and use them.  Failure to do so may result in injury or death.  I require a signed waiver form from the participant and strongly recommend safety wear such as a helmet and wrist guards.
